This winter marks a momentous occasion for Anthology Film Archives – its 40th anniversary! Founded in 1970, Anthology has been preserving, exhibiting, and promoting independent and avant-garde cinema for four decades, beginning in a space at Joseph Papp’s Public Theater, moving to several locations throughout the late 70s and early 80s (including George Maciunas’s Fluxhouse at 80 Wooster), and finally settling in 1988 in its current home at the 2nd Avenue Courthouse building. Click here for directions to AFA.
