THE SICILIAN GIRL, by Marco Amenta, opens at Film Forum and nationwide

TrustMovies has been beating the drum for Marco Amenta's THE SICILIAN GIRL ever since he first saw it over a year ago during the FSLC's 2009 edition of Open Roads.  Finally, that distributor who seems to have a special knack for picking out only "the good ones," Music Box Films, is releasing the movie nationwide in a limited run, beginning tomorrow here in NYC at Film Forum.  (Click here to learn dates, theaters and cities around the country where The Sicilian Girl will soon appear.) You can find my earlier coverage of the film here and here.

I had a nice interview with Signore Amenta, shown at left, during his visit to New York last year.  Now, with the release of his film, he's back again and I hope to meet with him in the next day or two for a quick catch-up. As soon as possible after that meeting, I'll have both interviews posted.

FYI: Amenta will be appearing in person at Film Forum, only at the 7:45 pm shows, this Wed., August 4; Thurs., August 5; and Fri., August 6. He's a terrific guy -- personable, talented, smart, and with a good command of English -- so if you want the chance to meet him, see the film at one of those three times.
